I vote early and often – every chance I get – and I leave a paper trail.
Been warning folks about all this shit since I was a little boy. 1955, age nine, Gypsy Trail Road, Carmel, New York. There was no zip code.
But nobody would listen. Of course, I thought the problem must really be me. In a micro sense, spot on.
Macro, the beginning of the downhill slide of our democracy can be squarely traced to the Old Cowpoke.
Simply check the data. Ketchup is not a vegetable, astrology is not a science and Mount Rushmore is fine just the way it is.
Looking for non-evidence…
Today’s state media – don’t believe what you are seeing, don’t believe what you are hearing except here – offers up patriotic blondes like Laura Ingraham, who manages ironically to be the poster girl for BOTH! Q-Anon and the Incels.
[I]n some parts of the country, it does seem like the America that we know and love doesn’t exist anymore. Massive demographic changes have been foisted on the American people and they’re changes that none of us ever voted for and most of us don’t like. From Virginia to California, we see stark examples of how radically in some ways the country has changed. Now, much of this is related to both illegal and in some cases legal immigration that of course progressives love.
We interrupt this diatribe to congratulate Melania Trump’s parents on their new American citizenships, just another example of the dreaded chain migration. Some so-called “model” with high cheekbones gets a bogus work visa because nobody can do what she can do. The next thing you know the place is crawling with Slovenians, who now have armed guards paid for by the American taxpayers.
This is a national emergency and he must demand that Congress act now, the Fox News host said at the conclusion of her monologue. There is something slipping away in this country and it’s not about race or ethnicity. It’s what was once a common understanding by both parties that American citizenship is a privilege, and one that at a minimum requires respect for the rule of law and loyalty to our constitution.
Thought-provoking.
I am thinking, who the hell voted for her? And I am confident, most of us don’t like her.
Really, who’s more dangerous, MS-13 or Attorney Gerbil Jefferson Beauregard Sessions?
Like Ronald Reagan, I am not afraid of immigrants. Immigrants don’t kill people, guns kill people. In Florida, for example, Hispanic-types are running all over the place with sharp instruments and hammers, also protected by the Second Amendment but you never hear the NRA trying to sell no sickles, it’s about the only way to get your lawn mowed after they build your house. And they do good work. Cheap.
Back to the six-shooting Reagan, who did indeed love his firearms. But really hated unions. Ironic for the ex-union president.
His second biggest acting role.
Reagan loved immigrants.
America represents something universal in the human spirit. I received a letter not long ago from a man who said, ‘You can go to Japan to live, but you cannot become Japanese. You can go to France to live and not become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany or Turkey, and you won’t become a German or a Turk…. Anybody from any corner of the world can come to America to live and become an American.
Another time he told us,
Through this Golden Door has come millions of men and women. These families came here to work. Others came to America and often fled harrowing conditions. They didn’t ask what this country could do for them but what they could do to make this refuge the greatest home of freedom in history. They brought with them courage and the values of family, work, and freedom. Let us pledge to each other that we can make America great again.
In a macro sense, folks, this country is in deep doo doo. Which is why the slope is so slippery.
Micro, I came back from vacationing in a place I wish I lived to find my car won’t start and my dog is failing.
Thinking I will have to let the car go and shoot the dog.
Would much rather do the exact opposite.
I could shoot the car and let my dog run loose.
Which is what I wish I could do as soon as I stop crying.
I guess like so many others, I could just keep telling myself
what I am seeing and what I am hearing is not really happening.
I forgot to mention the dentist. But the next day, the big dog still snores by my side.
