A great many of my friends are growing old. A few got there a while back. (I like the phrase “growing old” as it suggests possibilities in the future.) Most are doing well, as polite society might describe life. A couple not so much. And I would have to take a little some time to name those already gone.
Think of that and I go “Yo! Still here!!!” I call BULLSHIT on the dangers of sausage and hot dogs..
Here’s my point, which I saw atop a urinal in Cedar Key. I may not be as good as I once was but I am still able to be good once. – JDW
My mother’s death
has had a profound effect on me,
but I can’t quite grasp what that effect is.
I seem to feel much older now,
perhaps because I have no parents.
I am the old one now.
So, I sense that time is running out.
And there is no better time for a new beginning.

Every man that goes down has the ability to get back up. The difference is how you get back up, how that man gets back up. A man can get down and come back withered, can come back beaten. But a man that falls down and comes back and is changed is different from him being down. That’s who we are… That’s who we need to be.” – Tim Tebow

The drop off in racing performances with age manifests itself only on timekeepers’ watches. The running action, the breathing and other experiences of racing all feel the same. Only the watch shows otherwise. – Jack Foster
It’s always good to scare yourself. We’ve been scaring ourselves since we were young. We’ve gotta do bigger things now to scare ourselves. – Joss Christensen
