On The Road Again

“I cling to my imperfections as the very essence of my being.” – Anatole France

Breakfast at Holey Moley, donut capital of Cedar Key.  Picture book “Underdogs.”

“When we lose the right to be different, we lose the privilege to be free.” – Charles Evans Hughes.

The old man wondered why he hadn’t come up with that idea himself.  Take photographs of other people’s dogs and pair the pics with wise quotes by other people.  Smart.

Squeezing bon mots from your own muse not always so easy.

“There is always a certain peace in being what one is, in being that completely.” – Ugo Betti

What the old man is causes no peace.  He is long sick and not getting any better.  But the pain grows and he took that as a sign of life.

“You are unique, and if that is not fulfilled, then something has been lost.”  – Martha Graham

Eleven pounds.  The old man had lost five kilos.

He still felt unique.
