So many flags everywhere. Place is like Wayward Pines Under The Dome. No parade
because the town can’t afford a parade, We believe in limited government.
Happy Birthday, America!
There’s Firecracker Smash’em Up!
“Held at the Hernando County Fairgrounds.
Parking is $5. Admission is $10 for adults & teenagers,
$5 for children 12 and younger,
free for children 36 inches and smaller.
The family event will include contests,
games for all ages and plenty of food.
There will be a demolition derby
followed by fireworks.
Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets.”
Guessing that brings a whole new dimension to a demolition derby. Happy Birthday, America!
Or there’s Red, White and Blue Gun Shoot.
“Bring a machine gun, rifle or pistol
and help destroy several cars, trucks
and assorted patriotically decorated targets.
Bring your own eye and ear protection.
$2 spectators, 14 and younger free;
$20 shooters.”
Am I the only one wondering
about those patriotically decorated targets.
Luckily, the Shoot only lasts five and a half hours.
So, there’s plenty of time to head home
shower off the GSR,
have dinner at the Olive Garden –
considered ‘fine dining’ in these here parts –
and make it to the County Fairgrounds before dark.
Happy Birthday, America!
Or we could just stay home
and watch one of the Planet of the Apes movies.
Love those.
