Today
I awoke
scratched two dogs
and my nuts
I have low-hangers.
Got the coffee started
Fed the puppy.
Uncovered the birds.
Light up the fish.
Farted.
Went for a walk
a long, long, long,
long walk.
Returned home safely.
Much joy in that.
She was waiting
with a smile on her face
and her bottom.
Resting now.
Smiling some myself.
Wish I was the kind of guy
who liked to brag.
I don’t like to
but today
I worked out,
I dug in the garden,
I played with my dogs,
I got high,
I drank beer,
I made love
to the best human
I’ve ever known.
Like I said,
I am not the kind of guy
to brag,
but I’m telling everybody,
that’s a good day,
don’t care how damn old you are,
or who you’re with,
that’s a good day
right there.
