My Guru Spoke Haiku

Through shallow intellect, the mind becomes shallow, and one eats the fly, along with the sweets. – Guru Nanak

A willow drips near
to the ground and a green frog.
It must be August.

Used to have money.
Two-car garage, breakfast out.
Rather be happy.

To understand life,
a vine must climb the mountain -
a last grasp effort.

I must admit it.
I could never tell a lie.
nor even the truth.

Do not ask me why.
Never really knew myself.
What was the question?

I see mountain peak,
though only from the bottom.
My spirit soars free.
