There cannot be a peaceful coexistence of two completely different theories of life, theories of government, theories of how we manage our affairs. We can’t be in this dire a conflict without something giving somewhere along the way.
I know that there’s a sizable and growing sentiment for people who believe that that is where we’re headed whether we want to or not. Whether we want to go there or not.
Rush knows and sees a lot, the poor sick asshole. Just not their names.
But I know there CAN be a peaceful coexistence of two completely different theories of life, theories of government, theories of how we manage our affairs because I live in Trump country.
And I have coexisted here for fourteen years. Hate it here, have no friends, but it’s been peaceful.
Nightmarish actually, freakin’ hellhole, but rural Florida is as close as you can get to living free in North America.
It’s all I can afford.
And every time I see a survey of white wealth vis a vis black wealth, well.
Based on all actual financial data, turns out I am black.
Something else Rush spouted there gives me hope.

Suppose what he’s really saying is,
his side gives up voter suppression and gerrymandering.
his side believes in democracy and civil rights for all.
