A Banana In The Morning, Blueberry Juice At Night

“At some point in your life, you face a watershed moment—everyone does—a realization that you are no longer the person you once were, and that if you continue on the path you’re on, you will lose the part of you,  that you that matters most to you.    At this point, people make one of two choices.   Either they say, “I can’t do anything about this,” and then start numbing themselves with alcohol or drugs or food or falling asleep in front of the always-on television or any of a hundred other ways that turn their minds off…
Or they say, “I am going to fix this now.” And they act.
I don’t know what your dream is—that promise you keep tucked inside of you that is going to be the magnificent thing you do “someday.”
But I know THIS.    SOMEDAY NEVER COMES.    NOW is all you have.    If you’ve hit (or passed) your watershed moment, and you’re NOT willing to give up, to turn off your brain, to quit…    ACT. Today. Now.” – Holly Lisle

The old man was feeling decidedly out of sorts.  The zombie house next door was springing back to life.  The new owners hadn’t yet moved in – just an unseemly menagerie of workmen – and he was already closing too many blinds which had long remained wide-open.  Maybe he’d simply start prancing around in the nude and Joe and Pam from Long Island will just have to shut their blinds.  His “Pressed Ham,” if the old man said so himself, was a stunner.

A new study finds that men who skip breakfast have a 27 percent greater risk of dying from cardiovascular disease than guys who regularly eat a morning meal.  Surprisingly, this was the case even after accounting for other risk factors such as smoking, lack of exercise, high stress, and poor diet.

A banana in the morning, blueberry juice at night seemed like a great title for a porno flick.  But he thought it was a note from his last attempt to improve his life.  What he really liked was a four-egg meat-lovers omelette with sour bread and lumpy strawberry jam.  He liked his hashbrowns smothered, covered and abused.  No less than four stiff drinks at night.  When he reached one hundred years old and went to the White House to dance with President Ivanka, that’s what he would tell them.
His secret to longevity.
What he wouldn’t tell them is you can’t eat everything you like.
The old man knew because he had tried.
